  I built this model after seeing a friend's version. He built his based on the model he found in: "Lego Crazy Action Contraptions" book. I personally have not seen the instructions that's in that book.

Instructions below was created by taking photos while disassembling the model.		  
 
 
   

Step 1.

Start with these four simple pieces:

  • 4x4 PLATE
  • 2x2 brick
  • 2x6 brick
  • 2x8 brick
  
 
 
   

Step 2.

Repeat three more times to build this

  
 
 
   

Step 3.

Brace the model using the four 4x4 plates as shown.

Collect new pieces: eight yellow 2x4

  
 
 
   

Step 4.

Place the yellow bricks as shown.

Collect new pieces: four 2x6 plates

  
 
 
   

Step 5.

Brace the model using the 2x6 plates.

Collect new pieces.

  
 
 
   

Step 6.

Place new pieces as shown.

  
 
 
   

Step 7.

Carefully, turn the model upside down.

Collect eight 2x4 plates. If you have them, you can replace these with four 4x4 plates.

  
 
 
   

Step 8.

Place reinforcement plates as shown.

  
 
 
   

Step 9.

Keep model upside down.
Collect eight 1x2 beams.

  
 
 
   

Step 10.

Place 1x2 beams as shown (model still upside down)

  
 
 
   

Step 11.

Reinforce the model using eight 1x6 beams and sixteen black pins.

  
 
 
   

Step 12.

Close-up of the reinforcement.

No new parts on this step.

  
 
 
   

Step 13.

This will become the two "pistons".

Axle is 4 stud long.

Red piece is a 1x2 beam.

Placement of the parts shows how to build the pistons.

Slide the model frame on top of the pistons.

  
 
 
 
 
   

Step 17.

Two 1x2 beams are special beams with + holes rather than round holes. I got mine from MindStorms set.
